# CLOSING IN SANTANDER OF THE TRAVELING EXHIBITION “WORK AND HEALTH. FROM PROTECTION TO PREVENTION”

Last Friday, the exhibition "Work and Health. From protection to prevention" closed in Santander, in which they collaborated with the Largo Caballero Foundation, the mutual Fraternidad-Muprespa and the National Institute of Safety and Hygiene at Work.

The exhibition, which began its journey in Albacete, in October 2010, has toured six cities, Albacete, Bilbao, León, Gijón, Salamanca and Santander, from five different Autonomous Communities, showing in its itineraries, 286 documents, 71 objects and 129 photographs.

It has undoubtedly been a pioneering exhibition due to the amount of historical testimonies of varied origins related to the history of work, health in Spain, social movements, legislative changes and working conditions that have been suffered in the country since 1900. A didactic exercise on industrial, productive and labor development - in all its aspects - over the centuries. For this reason, this exhibition has been a reference for training centers, professionals and experts in the subjects presented here, technicians in the health field, prevention and social movements.

The closing, in keeping with the history of the exhibition, had a large capacity. Participating in this event were, among others: Ms. Cristina Mazas, Minister of Economy, Finance and Employment of the Government of Cantabria; Mr. Jesús Pérez Martínez, President of the Francisco Largo Caballero Foundation; Ms. Natalia Fernández Laviada, Deputy Director General of Organization and Network of

The Curator of the exhibition, Mr. Emili Castejón Vilella, gave an interesting conference on “The reality of preventive action in Spanish companies.”

Participating in a lively round table were Mr. Miguel Ángel Gálvez, Provincial Head of the Labor and S.S. Inspection, Ms. Conchita González Puerta, CEOE-CEPYME of Cantabria; Mr. Gabriel Pérez, Territorial Director of the Prevention Society Fraternidad-Muprespa; Mr. José Luis Hernando de las Heras, Secretary of union action of UGT and Mr. Amalio Sánchez Grande, Director of the Cantabrian Institute of Safety and Health at Work of Cantabria.

They put an end to the journey of the exhibition Ms. Rosa Mª del Castillo, General Director of Labor of Cantabria; Ms. Mª Jesús Cedrún, General Secretary of UGT-Cantabria and Mr. Cándido Méndez, General Secretary of the UGT.
