# Fraternidad-Muprespa and the CGS of Segovia analyze the labor effects of the IP declaration

Fraternidad‑Muprespa, in collaboration with the Most Excellent Official College of Social Graduates of Segovia and the Provincial Council, held the ada“The employment relationship after the declaration of a permanent disability: termination of employment or necessary adjustment”, a meeting aimed at companies, consultancies and professionals in the labor-legal field.

The session, which was presented by Jose Luis Benito, president of the College, had as its main speaker Ana Lorenzo, coordinator of the Economic Benefits Department of Fraternidad‑Muprespa, lawyer and specialist in occupational risk prevention and health law.

Lorenzo explained the keys to Law 2/2025, of April 29, a groundbreaking rule with the legal treatment of permanent disability, since it eliminates the automatic termination of the contract after the declaration of a total or greater permanent disability, forcing the company to assess whether there are reasonable adjustments or compatible positions before making a decision.

The speaker stressed that the law does not impose a duty of relocation, but rather a duty of analysis and highlighted the reinforced role of prevention services, responsible for identifying compatible positions and issuing technical reports.

Lorenzo explained the journey that goes from sick leave to returning to work, and how companies should act in the face of a temporary disability process that can lead to permanent disability.
