# Fraternidad-Muprespa at the SETLA Conference on ACL rupture

Fraternidad-Muprespa has participated in the “ “Physiotherapy in rupture of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament of the knee” organized by the Spanish Society of Occupational Traumatology SETLA, which took place on Friday, October 8 at the Illustrious Official College of Physicians of Madrid. During the session, the entire recovery process for an ACL tear was explained, from the intervention in the operating room to the return to work, addressing the keys to physiotherapy for patients with this type of injury.

The day began with Dr. Miguel Jiménez Fermín, a specialist in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology with international training in arthroscopic surgery, describing the techniques in anterior cruciate ligament surgeries. Rafel Donat Roca, physiotherapist, university professor and doctorate in Educational Technology, has continued explaining how to approach rehabilitation depending on the type of surgery used.

Sara Calderon Cabiro, physiotherapist of the main Barcelona delegation of Fraternidad-Muprespa with his presentation “Analysis of the work gesture; physiotherapy for the return to work in the LCA” has been in charge of sharing with the attendees the points to take into account for the patient's recovery and return to work life.

In her speech, Sara highlighted that “ after surgery and functional rehabilitation it would be necessary to Take advantage of the last phases of rehabilitation to work on the work gesture or return to work.”  In this way he emphasized that “The objective is to bring the patient closer to their real work environment in order to, in this way,promote the reduction of relapses and patient empowerment, avoiding taking them to work without being prepared for a real work context.”

Laura Valtueña Príncipe, supervisor of the Main Madrid delegation of Juan Antonio Cuevas Molina y Yolanda Collado Teruel, both physiotherapists at the Madrid Main Delegation.
