These are organizations that have effectively contributed to the reduction of accidents, with investments in occupational risk prevention and effective actions to try to eradicate work accidents and occupational diseases. The event has had the collaboration of the Labor and Social Security Inspection and the General Treasury of Social Security. Javier Saldana, provincial director of Fraternidad-Muprespa in Valladolid, presented the event by thanking those present for their attendance and conveying his satisfaction at seeing the number of recognized companies increase year after year. Subsequently Jerónimo González, provincial director of Valladolid of the INSS/TGSS, has reviewed the regulations on prevention and the data from the National Institute of Safety and Health at Work on accident rates in Castilla y León, comparing them with those of other autonomous communities such as Madrid or Catalonia, urging everyone to “not rest on their laurels.” Finally Carlos Fernandez Carriego, Employment Counselor of the Regional Government of Castilla y León closed the event, demanding investment in the prevention of occupational risks and recalling the value of these recognitions in economic terms, for the amount of the Bonus itself and for the increase in productivity that the reduction of workplace accidents entails. “Above the economic value there is always the social value of reducing people's suffering,” he explained.
