# Fraternidad-Muprespa grants more than €1,000,000 in social aid in the first half of 2017

The Special Benefits Commission Fraternidad-Muprespa, is in charge of managing applications and granting ex-gratia aid, in response to states and situations of need, which arise as a result of having suffered a work accident or an occupational disease.

Our Entity has granted a total of 777 social aid, for an amount of €1,057,862 corresponding to the first half of 2017. This amount is almost equal to the total amount granted in 2016.

Notable for their amount are 104 home aids, 268 for companion expenses, 78 study aids, 43 orthopedic or prosthetic aids, up to 777 requests that contemplate a wide variety of circumstances.

It is the purpose of the Entity to disseminate and promote the granting of this type of aid.

These contributions are independent and compatible with the statutory Social Security benefits, they are granted through the aforementioned Special Benefits Commission, a joint participation body, and special interest is paid to cases of disability, as well as aid to family members or similar persons of workers, who are in a situation of special need and lack the means to cope.

The aid is granted from the social assistance reserve, which was established by the Mutual Insurance Law (Law 35/2014), and which is provided with 10% of the annual surpluses obtained by the Entity, after the provision of the legal reserves.
