# Fraternidad-Muprespa participates in the Aranzadi JUC Congress speaking about mental health and work accidents

On June 29 and 30, the Repsol Campus in Madrid hosted a new edition of the Aranzadi JUC Social Security Congress, two days of analysis, debate and updating that brought together more than 80 professionals from the legal field and Social Security management, a reference meeting.

Directed by Guillermo L. Barrios, professor of Labor and Safety Law at the Rey Juan Carlos University, the program included the participation of renowned specialists such as Ana M.ª Orellana, Ignasi Beltrán de Heredia, Macarena Montalbán, Javier Sanchez, Jose Luis Velazquez, Miguel Arenas, Alfredo Aspra, Cristina Aragón Gómez y Ana Lorenzo Cardenes, who addressed key issues related to temporary disability, work accidents, international teleworking, retirement, relief contracts and the main jurisprudential developments in the field of Social Security.

He also explained the doctrine and consolidated jurisprudence that allows certain psychological disorders to be recognized as derived from a work accident, provided that three elements are present: exclusively work-related origin, objective ailment and real impediment to work.

The presentation was structured in three blocks. The first was a quantitative analysis, with data on the volume of most frequent processes and diagnoses; the second, the description of the actions of the mutual insurance companies in these cases, highlighting the specialized attention for a rigorous assessment, and finally, the legal requirements to classify a temporary disability as a work accident, with reference to article 156.2 e) of the LGSS, in addition to some examples of sentences that illustrate how this criterion is applied.
