# Fraternidad-Muprespa, present at a round table on occupational risks in the health sector

Fraternidad-Muprespa, Mutua Colaboradora con la Seguridad Social, estuvo presente el pasado 3 de octubre en la jornada “Prevención de riesgos laborales en el sector sanitario” organizada por la revista Formación de Seguridad Laboral y celebrada en la sede del Instituto Regional de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo. The objective of the meeting was to address current events in the sector, as well as analyze present and future challenges, which involve greater training and implementation of a correct preventive culture.

Anthony of Cos, director of the Mutua's own Prevention Service, participated in the round table and shared a case of good practices carried out in the SPP on biosafety.

Given that one of the most common accidents among healthcare workers is the risk of punctures with elements such as needles, syringes or sutures, an awareness and sensitization campaign was launched to reduce this type of accidents through training actions. In addition, access to utensils with biosafety mechanisms was guaranteed in all health centers. One year after its implementation, the set objective was easily met: to reduce the accident rate in this area by twenty percent.

Along with de Cos, Carlos Maya, PRL technician from the department of prevention and development of health culture, also participated in this event on behalf of Fraternidad-Muprespa.

Other attendees at the round table were Marivi Gomez, director of IR at the Borrmart publishing house,Javier Fuertes, responsible for ORP preventive activity at QuirónSalud or Jaime Saez, deputy director of FSL magazine, among others.
