General

"The invisible risk that impacts your company. Prevent and address mental health at work" is the title of a conference held online on the 8th, organized by the Confederation of Business Associations of Burgos (FAE), with the collaboration of PROSAME, the support of the Caja Círculo Foundation and the participation of Fraternidad-Muprespa.

The meeting brought together representatives from around 60 companies in a session in which the need to integrate mental health and well-being into business strategy to build more sustainable, resilient organizations committed to people was highlighted.

During the day,Elena Fernandez, Prevention consultant for the Provincial Directorate of Granada, highlighted that business sustainability and the creation of healthy work environments are currently inseparable concepts. In his speech, he explained that a healthy environment goes far beyond the absence of workplace accidents, since it implies active collaboration between companies and workers to protect and promote health in a comprehensive manner.

Likewise, he highlighted the strategic role of communication in this type of initiatives, pointing out that well-being projects require visible and effective campaigns that allow progress and results to be shared. He also indicated that the participation of workers constitutes one of the determining factors for the success of these programs, since their involvement favors collective commitment and the consolidation of an authentic preventive culture.

For its part,Beatriz Lozano, a Prevention consultant for the Provincial Directorate of Burgos, focused on the growing incidence of mental health problems in the workplace. He specified that they are the third cause of temporary disability in Spain, that the processes last 2.5 times longer than the average duration of other processes and that the incidence increased by 490% between the years 2018 and 2024.

Furthermore, he defended that the implementation of healthy work environments requires the explicit commitment of management and management based on continuous improvement. To achieve this, it opted for dynamic work systems based on analysis, planning, action, evaluation of results and the adoption of corrective measures that allow us to respond effectively to new challenges.

The practical vision of mental health in organizations came from Sara Basurto y Mario Revillo, representatives of PROSAME, who stressed that mental health care should not be limited to intervening when a problem or conflict is perceived, but should be aimed at creating work environments capable of preventing discomfort and enhancing emotional well-being.

To close the day, the Fraternidad-Muprespa consultants presented the various specialized resources that they make available to companies to promote the occupational health and well-being of their staff, both through their professionals and through digital tools.
