# NEW RATE OF CONTRIBUTION PREMIUMS FOR PROFESSIONAL CONTINGENCIES FROM JANUARY 1, 2010

| The eighth final provision of the [Law 26/2009, of December 23](/contenido.aspx?x=6&y=8&z=5), of the General State Budgets for 2010, approves the new rate for the contribution of work accidents and occupational diseases, with effect from January 1, 2010.  * The most important novelty of this new rate is that occupation "c" is deleted which referred to the contribution of workers in a situation of Temporary Disability or suspension of the employment relationship, applying the rate corresponding to the respective economic activity of the company and the application of occupation "b" is reduced only for trade representatives.   * This rate will be applied to those contributions whose settlement period corresponds to the year 2010: Companies as of settlement in January 2010 (entry in February 2010) and self-employed workers as of settlement in January 2010 (entry in the same month).  --- |
