# Social Graduates from Lleida and Fraternidad-Muprespa analyze job changes after an IP declaration

On September 23, the Lleida delegation of the Illustrious College of Social Graduates of Barcelona hosted a conference "The employment relationship after the declaration of a permanent disability: termination of employment or necessary adjustment", dedicated to analyzing the effects of Law 2/2025, of April 29, on the continuity or termination of the employment relationship when a worker is declared in a situation of permanent disability.

Nacho Vendrell, delegate in Lleida of the Illustrious College of Social Graduates of Barcelona, ​​Girona and Lleida, was in charge of welcoming those attending the event and of advancing the points of the central regulations of the exhibition.

Ana Lorenzo,  coordinator of the Economic Benefits department of Fraternidad-Muprespa, was the main speaker and outlined the most relevant regulatory changes introduced by the new law, as well as their impact on companies, workers and legal operators.

Impact of Law 2/2025 on the continuity of the employment relationship

It began by analyzing the legal background that promoted the reform, the INSS criteria in relation to it and the modifications introduced in the Workers' Statute, the General Law of Social Security and the Regulatory Law of Social Jurisdiction.

He also delved into the new approach that prioritizes the maintenance of the employment relationship by making reasonable adjustments or relocating the worker to positions compatible with their situation, before considering the termination of the contract.

It also addressed the deadlines and obligations that the parties must assume after the declaration of permanent disability, as well as the role of prevention services, mutual insurance companies and the INSS. It also addressed the concept of excessive burden for the company and the criteria that allow it to be determined, along with the legal consequences derived from each possible scenario.

Finally, he analyzed the compatibility or not between permanent disability benefits and work activity when an adaptation or relocation of the worker occurs, and illustrated each point discussed with practical examples and references to recent rulings.

Finally, the day closed Neus Pons, Provincial Director of Fraternidad‑Muprespa in Lleida, who thanked the speakers and organizers of the day for their participation.
