Fraternidad-Muprespa, Mutual Collaborator with Social Security No. 275, in collaboration with His Excellency College of Social Graduates of Madrid and the Stroke Stop Association, has held an informative day on the prevention of stroke.

The keys to the disease and the factors that influence prevention have been analyzed, as well as the importance of making known, from the workplace, the actions to participate in the detection of stroke.

Representing the College of Social Graduates of Madrid, its vice president was present,Eva Torrecilla, who opened the event in addition to introducing the speakers.

Natalia Fernández Laviada, Deputy Director General of Prevention, Quality and Communication of [Fraternidad-Muprespa](https://www.fraternidad.com/es-ES/fraternidad-muprespa), presented the event, at which time he analyzed the keys to the disease, definition and symptoms. He has highlighted that the reaction time to act in the event of a possible stroke is essential to minimize its consequences. He has commented that of the 87 work accidents, which occurred during 2017, in which stroke is included in the diagnosis; 51 have been classified as mild, 25 as serious and the remaining 11 resulted in death. Once the presentation was finished, the cornerstone of the disease, “prevention,” was delved into. After evaluating the risk factors, both the non-modifiable ones, age and sex, and the modifiable ones, high blood pressure, smoking, obesity, diabetes and others, he has given the keys to acquiring healthy habits that help reduce the probability of suffering a stroke. Finally, he recommended that attendees visit the Fraternidad-Muprespa portal,[The Health Corner](http://www.rincondelasalud.com/es-ES/rincon-de-la-salud), located on the site [Previene](https://www.fraternidad.com/es-ES/previene).

Julio Agredano, president of the ICTUS Brake Association, has taken the floor and with the suggestive presentation titled “ We can all have a wrinkle in our Superman cape”, has reviewed the social impact of ICTUS in Spain, the knowledge that society in general has about the disease and finally has spoken of the “ multiplier effect” “We are convinced that information reaches us more if someone around us provides it to us, be it a father, son, brother or friend. The information that our close core gives us imbues us and is what helps change things.” “People who help us improve the situation through their own knowledge.”
