In 1998 he joined Fraternidad-Muprespa; His career passes through the Benefits and Organization departments where he acquires vast knowledge about the operation and structure of the mutual company. Director of the Management Control and Audit department
![Mutua Fraternidad-Muprespa]()F.M.: You direct a key department for improving the internal functioning of the organization. What is the most difficult and the most grateful?

L.V.A.: There are still many colleagues who see internal audit as the enemy within the house; Although we at the department try to change that feeling, we have not yet succeeded. Our main objective is to monitor compliance with all procedures and we have verified that when this happens, the entire internal mechanism of the Mutual improves.
The most grateful thing? Of course seeing that every day's work has its reward in the end. Although there are still few provinces that have managed to avoid incidents, others are about to achieve it. I hope that throughout this year that number will increase.

F.M.: After your experience and dedication in the department, could you tell us what our vices are.

L.V.A.: On this point I have to say that almost all the incidents we detect are operating errors with the applications, either due to ignorance of the procedures or because of wanting to speed up the processes. On a few occasions we have encountered malicious incidents, although as you can imagine they are the ones that give me the most headaches and the most difficult to manage. For a few years now it can be seen that the number of incidents found has been decreasing in most of the Provincial Directorates.

F.M.: And our virtues…

L.V.A.: This is one of the things I like most about my job. We visit more than 60 different centers every year and after each outing the auditor always brings something new. We work at the same Mutua but after traveling you realize that each center, each delegation, each provincial address is unique. Each and every one of them has something good to contribute to the whole.

F.M.: From the perspective of the PEC, how does the development and fulfillment of your objectives affect the fulfillment of the general objectives of the organization?

L.V.A.: When you have a closer and more concrete horizon, it is much easier for you to achieve it. This is what has happened to us with the Strategic Plan, the objectives that already existed have become accessible. From my point of view, the most important thing about the PEC has been the closeness to each one of us, a large part of the staff has participated and we must not forget that the PEC would be useless without the people. It is we who must make this plan alive and moving; For now we are getting it.

F.M.: A department that is affected by all modifications, instructions and regulations in all areas of management. Of all this, which are the most annoying?

L.V.A.: With so many internal and external regulations, not a month goes by without something changing, you have to be aware of it every day. For auditors, the most difficult thing is not a specific standard but the number of standards that must be kept in mind with their constant modifications. I couldn't identify the most annoying ones, I think the worst thing is the quantity and dispersion we find. One of the objectives of the PEC is to simplify this and I believe that work is already being done on this. Of course, this is a department that will greatly appreciate it.

F.M.: How do you see FM developing in the future?

L.V.A.: You don't have to be very smart to see that FM is much better than a few years ago, there have been important changes at all levels and the Mutual Fund is much more solid, however I am afraid of the bubble in which the sector finds itself. In these times of economic crisis, Mutual Insurance Companies have not been a fixed target. Most economic sectors have been bombed and ours has suffered collateral but not direct damage. We will have to wait for the new mutual law to see what happens.
