# The Avilés City Council, the TGSS and the Mutua participate in a conference on Law 6/17

Fraternidad-Muprespa has organized in collaboration with the Avilés City Council and the General Treasury of Social Security of the Principality of Asturias an interesting information day on the news provided by Law 6/17, urgent reforms to self-employment.

The event was held on December 14 at the Valdecarzana Palace, an emblematic building donated by the Avilés City Council for this purpose.

Jose Luis Vega, head of the business promotion section of the Avilés City Council, “ The Tanner", presented the program of the day, but not before thanking the large audience, which filled the capacity of the assembly hall, for the interest shown in attending this event.

After the presentation, he took the floor José Ignacio Díaz, territorial director of the Northern zone of Fraternidad-Muprespa and explained by way of introduction the different benefits managed by the mutual insurance companies. He has highlighted the new developments that could arise with the new law for the self-employed, such as, for example, the accident in itinere.

Laureano Alvarez, deputy provincial director of the General Treasury of Social Security of the Principality of Asturias, following the program of the day, has outlined the main new features of Law 6/2017, such as the modifications in the surcharges for late income, in the effects of registrations and cancellations and the changes in contributions. The expansion of the system of reductions and bonuses, the current situation for the reconciliation of family and work life for self-employed workers, the compatibility of the retirement pension and self-employment and the hiring of the child or family member of the self-employed worker.

To conclude the information session, and after an interesting round of questions, José Ignacio Díaz thanked the attendees for their attention and the collaborating organizations for their participation.
