# VALERIANO GOMEZ VISITS THE EXHIBITION ORGANIZED BY THE MUTUA Fraternidad MUPRESPA, LARGO CABALLERO FOUNDATION AND INSHT IN GIJÓN

On March 31, the Minister of Labor and Immigration visited the traveling exhibition in Gijón “ Work and health: from Protection to Prevention”.

Valeriano Gomez He spoke “of the inalienable right to work in the best conditions of hygiene and safety and also commented on the processes, sometimes painful, that the workers have followed until reaching the current situation.”

From the exhibition he noted that "it represents a wake-up call, so that risk situations are reduced or eliminated and workers are prevented from suffering, getting sick or losing their life due to work."  
Among the personalities accompanying the minister was the mayor of Gijón,Paz Fernández Felgoso, who was grateful that the exhibition is in his city.

The president of the Largo Caballero Foundation, Jesús Pérez, spoke of the primary objective of the exhibition, which is “the dissemination of the culture of prevention.”

The managing director of the mutual [Fraternidad Muprespa](/), Carlos Aranda, highlighted “the commitment of occupational accident mutual societies in education and awareness to improve prevention at work.”

The curator of the exhibition Emili Castejón of the INSHT has recalled that the exhibition shows a journey through the history of prevention in Spain.

The director of the Asturian Institute for Occupational Risk Prevention,Manuel Carlos Barba, insisted on the need to continue promoting policies to improve worker safety, with the support of the different administrations.

The exhibition, which is located in the La Laboral church in Gijón, will be open until May 8.
