# Workshop and presentation of the road safety team in Albacete

On July 12, 2017 HEhas made at the Fraternidad-Muprespa facilities in Albacete,a workshop and presentation of the road safety team with immersive virtual reality.

Workplace road safety is a very relevant issue nowadays, because 75% of those killed in traffic accidents are during working hours between Monday and Friday. Furthermore, 40% of fatal work accidents are traffic accidents. For this reason, the development of a mobility plan in companies is of great relevance to safeguard the safety and health of workers while traveling.

Fraternidad-Muprespa, aims to raise awareness among our mutual members about work-related traffic accidents, mainly during short trips and “in-Itinere”. The workshop that was presented has an important practical part with immersive virtual reality, so that the participantsthey will checkthe sensations and consequences of inappropriate driving, working mainly on awareness, risk factors and good practices in road safety policies.

This technology serves as an awareness tool to change the driver's perception of risk, from the human factor, without forgetting to address other factors that influence accidents, such as the vehicle and the road, and provide participants with good practices to reduce the accident rate of traffic-related accidents.

To the workshop have comemembers of some of the most representative companies in the province of Albacete associated with the Mutua ywe have countedwith the presence of Nicolás Merino Azori, provincial director of the Ministry of Economy, Business and Employment of Albacete,Jesus Oliver Sanchez, head of the Occupational Health and Safety service of Albacete, Cruz Hernando Fernández-Cortacero, provincial head of Traffic of Albacete and Carmelo Rodríguez Alcaraz, coordinator of Road Education of the Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Albacete. The event has been closed byEloy Ávila Lacalle,provincial director of Fraternidad-Muprespa of Albacete.

The presentation “Virtual reality driving equipment” has been exposedbyDavid Revillo Vidales, tSenior Prevention Technician of the Department of Prevention and Development of the Entity's Health Culture.
