Operating rooms at full capacity: Jano Racero, handball player operated on at the HFMH
The confinement and the presence of COVID-19 patients at the Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana Hospital led to the stoppage of surgical activity in its operating rooms and the reduction of the rest of its activity.
Many operations that were scheduled for March have been delayed until surgical activity begins again, which we can proudly say is operating almost at full capacity. In this sense we have to highlight the effectiveness that the entire team that makes up the Hospital is demonstrating, working on protocols designed for patient safety, which has always been our priority.
All those who were awaiting surgery have the same desire to resume their activities and among them we find the case of the handball player Jano Racero belonging to the team UBU San Pablo de Burgos, who was injured in February and had his intervention scheduled for March. Due to confinement, the operation was delayed until May 14, when it was performed by Dr. Vicente Díez, head of the lower limb unit.

After this intervention, the patient was discharged from the hospital 24 hours later with the beginning of partial support and mobilization, which was immediate. Your recovery for a complete sporting activity at the competition level will take about 5 months.
