José Fabregat new Managing Director of the Fraternidad-Muprespa Havana Hospital
José Francisco Fabregat Sancho has been appointed manager of the Fraternidad-Muprespa Havana Hospital of the Mutual Collaborator with Social Security on the Paseo de La Habana in Madrid.
José Fabregat has a degree in Medicine from the University of Valencia, a specialist in Neurosurgery as well as Hyperbaric and Underwater Medicine. He has also completed management development programs at IESE and the Instituto de Empresa.
His professional career has been linked to the field of hospital management with extensive experience developed as medical director at the Jiménez Díaz Foundation, director of Healthcare Projects at the RECOLETAS group, director of Project Development at the ERESA Medical Group, and Healthcare Coordinator at the NISA Pardo Hospital in Aravaca (Madrid).
In the field of teaching, he is director of the Chair of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, at the Catholic University of Murcia, in addition to having been professor of ___Master of Management and Planning of Health Services at the same University, as well like other teaching collaborations; for example, in the International Master's Degree in Assessment of Body Damage, Brain Damage and Disabilities of the European University and in the School of Nursing of the Jimenez Díaz Foundation.
Also fis part of the Spanish Medical Society of Neurosurgery, Neuroraquis, Pain and Medicine Hyperbaric. He is also president of the OHB Foundation (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy).
His appointment is supported by both his professional career and his experience in the Mutual Insurance sector.

- What does it mean for you to face this new stage as head of this Hospital? What challenges do you face?
For me, personally, it is very exciting. I feel very lucky that Fraternidad-Muprespa has counted on me for this project and it is a responsibility to be able to respond to the hopes that the entity has placed in the Hospital.This Hospital is not an isolated element, it is integrated into the context of a strategic plan of the Mutua, and my challenge is to be able to meet the expectations and objectives that the entity has set, always based on the main purpose of providing excellent care in all aspects, to those people who may need our services.
-___HTML TAG123___ What aspects of your medical and management experience do you think will be most valuable in managing this one and a half year old center?
Although, logically, with the passage of time experiences and learning accumulate, each organization has some particularities that must be learned and integrated into the day-to-day life. However, I think that knowing how mutual insurance companies work, having experience with multidisciplinary teams and working with network centers, as well as in implementing innovation in the healthcare field, can be helpful in this project.
- You know the field of healthcare in the Mutual Collaborators with Social Security, what do you think they contribute to the country's healthcare? What about the protection of the health of workers and the self-employed?
Health care is not only the professional act of health personnel. Our healthcare includes, in addition to covering the global needs of the patient and their environment, certain financial benefits. Each group has specific needs, whether pediatric, oncological, sports, etc. Likewise, the workplace has specific needs both from a technical and management point of view. Mutual insurance companies are entities specialized in covering this type of need, which is why I believe they are an essential element in the balance of the country's health care provision.
- How do you rate that this center is a benchmark in environmental sustainability and technological cutting-edge, with the Leed Healthcare Platinum certification?
If we take into account that with the high-level healthcare centers that we have in Spain, the Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana Hospital is the only Spanish hospital that has this recognition, the assessment is made alone. It is a luxury to be able to manage a center like this and it is another demonstration of the Mutual's effort to take care of all aspects of its activity and provide excellent treatment in its entire scope of action.
