Study on hyperconnectivity and mental health in the workplace
The INSST has recently presented a technical document titled: "Study on hyperconnectivity and mental health in the workplace" which analyzes the phenomenon of hyperconnectivity as a consequence of the advancement of information and communication technologies (ICT) as well as their introduction in the workplace. Throughout the work, the focus has been on evaluating the impact of hyperconnectivity on the mental health of workers, through different sociodemographic and organizational factors.
Specifically, it focuses on the following four points:
Analyze the construct of hyperconnectivity in the workplace and its impact on the mental health of working people who regularly use ICT in their professional activity
Develop and apply an evaluation instrument to an incidental sample of working people at the national level, which allows collecting different data in relation to the variables under study: hyperconnectivity, mental health and various sociodemographic and organizational factors.
Study and describe the associations between hyperconnectivity, mental health, and various sociodemographic and organizational variables of interest.
Provide a set of conclusions and recommendations, in order to prevent the negative effects of hyperconnectivity on the mental health of working people.
