Updated the guide for the evaluation and prevention of risks related to mechanical vibrations
The National Institute of Safety and Health at Work (INSST) has recently published the update of the Technical guide for the evaluation and prevention of risks related to mechanical vibrations - Year 2025.
In the period of time that has elapsed since the publication of the first edition, in the year 2008, valuable experience has been accumulated in relation to the aspects and points that require clarification, which is why an in-depth review has been carried out, to facilitate companies and those responsible for prevention in the interpretation and application of RD 1311/2005, on the protection of the health and safety of workers against risks derived or that may arise from exposure to mechanical vibrations.
The most notable new features in this edition are the inclusion of two new appendices, one on physical concepts, which explains the concepts and magnitudes used in the vibration evaluation process, and another related to control measures that provides practical information for the implementation of exposure reduction measures.
