| We inform that Fraternidad Muprespa has been assigned a workshop at the 2nd PRL Congress in Madrid, next October 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Madrid Room, with the title: R&D&I PROJECT “STUDY OF THE CONDITIONING FACTORS OF THE PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE OF PERSONNEL SPECIALIST IN FOREST FIRE FIGHTING”. TRAGSA y Fraternidad Muprespa have signed, in collaboration with the Department of Physical and Sports Education of the University of León, an R&D&i project for the three-year period 2006-2008, which seeks to improve the safety and health of the Forest Fire Extinguishing Specialist Personnel (P.E.E.I.F..), through the study of the factors conditioning the performance of the P.E.E.I.F.. The objective of the project is to quantify and characterize the physical work carried out by the P.E.E.I.F.., analyzing how their physical preparation, the environment where the work is carried out, the type of physical effort required, the equipment and tools used, influence the possible damage to their health to which said personnel is exposed. The Project pursues the following specific objectives: - Study the thermal behavior in response to the effort made by the P.E.E.I.F. in different thermal stress conditions and different action protocols, through continuous monitoring in the P.E.E.I.F. heart rate, core and skin temperature, internal and external relative humidity E.P.I., the concentration of gases inhaled, the orography of the terrain and its speed of movement and the degree of sweating based on thermal stress and the rehydration guidelines developed, and relate them to variables indicating possible cardiovascular health risk.
- Evaluate the role of personal protective equipment in laboratory and field tests in the different tasks that the P.E.E.I.F. must develop and analyze its influence on thermoregulation under standardized conditions.
The 2nd Regional Congress on Occupational Risk Prevention of the Community of Madrid organized by the Department of Employment and Women, through the Regional Institute of Safety and Health at Work, will be held on October 20, 21 and 22, 2008, at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos-Campo de las Unidas, in Madrid.
In these sessions, the main current issues regarding occupational risk prevention will be addressed. Within the framework of the Spanish Health and Safety Strategy at work (2007-2012), the Action Plan will be analyzed for its promotion and execution and its adaptation in the Community of Madrid.
Through round tables, conferences, presentations, expert panels and communications, other topics will be discussed, such as:the new way of communicating occupational diseases, the regulations on physical and chemical risks, the new European Area For higher training, quality in the prevention of occupational risks, the influence of the media or criminal liability, will be addressed from a technical point of view with professionalism and rigor. |
