AN INFORMATION DAY WAS HELD IN GIJÓN AROUND THE EXHIBITION WORK AND HEALTH: FROM PROTECTION TO PREVENTION

Among the activities carried out around the exhibition,Work and Health: from protection to prevention, last May 3rd, at Laboral de Gijón; City of Culture, an information day was held that was attended by:

Mr. Pedro Fernandez Castaño, Provincial Director of Fraternidad Muprespa in Asturias, who presented the event and outlined, among other aspects, those related to the Mutual Fund's commitment to the Prevention of Occupational Risks and the numerous aspects related to the activities that are being carried out for associated companies and workers, as well as the studies that are carried out from a statistical and epidemiological perspective, coordinating strategies, developing prevention programs, identifying risks and promoting the promotion of worker health, identifying possible alterations in relation to the risks inherent to the job.

Mr. Antonio González Fernández, General Director of Labor, Occupational Safety and Employment, focused his intervention on the excellent exhibition that we can see these days in the Church of La Laboral and the contribution that it makes in the fight against accidents.

Mr. Alejandro Cabrero Díaz, Head of the Specialized Occupational Health and Safety Unit of the Labor and Social Security Inspection of Asturias, explained the various aspects of the current regulations and the intervention of the Labor Inspection, as well as the action plans and programs for the year 2011, always based on the commitment to reduce accidents.

Ms. Esther Alonso Rodriguez, Secretary of Occupational Health of the UGT of Asturias, closed the event by recalling the importance of a real fight against accidents that was not exclusively documentary, based on firmer actions on the part of the administration and commitment to what affects employers.
