Annual report on work accidents in Spain data 2024

The INSST has just published the document: "Annual report on work accidents in Spain. Data for 2024" whose data comes from the exploitation of the computerized files of the official work accident notification reports for 2023 and 2024, which are kept by the General Subdirectorate of Statistics and Social and Labor Analysis of the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.

Although this report focuses on the study of work accidents during the work day, it incorporates as a novelty an analysis of work accidents in itinere, offering the most relevant results.

In Spain, during the year 2024, 647,200 work accidents with sick leave were recorded. The majority occurred during the working day, specifically 556,385 accidents, which represent 86.0%. The rest, 90,815 accidents, took place during the journey from home to work or vice versa; These are what are called work accidents with in itinere sick leave, which represented 14.0%. 

Men get accidents more than women during the work day with a percentage of 90.3% of men compared to 77.1% of women. However, women suffer a greater number of accidents while traveling (22.9% compared to 9.7%).
