Conference at the HFMH on efficiency in hospital services
On October 17, the Fraternidad-Muprespa Havana Hospital hosted the event 'The road to efficiency and sustainability of hospital services', which addressed, among other issues, cleaning in hospitals, sustainability management or the health and safety of healthcare personnel, and aimed at professionals in the healthcare sector, from maintenance service managers to those responsible for occupational risk prevention and hospital health.
Paloma Melendo, director of Facility Management & Services magazine, and Antonio Borredá, magazine director Cleanings and Job Safety Training, inaugurated the day by highlighting the importance of these fundamental sectoral meetings to promote synergies.
Borredá moderated the round table 'What are the new hospital demands and challenges with the greatest impact?', in which he participated Irene Braojos, hospitalization supervisor at the Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana Hospital, along with Santiago Garcia, president of OSICH;Emilio Arce, general director of Operational Services at the Quirónsalud Hospital; and Gloria Hernandez, head of the Hospitality section of the Gregorio Marañón General University Hospital. The debate focused on the complex organization of hospitals and how to incorporate new social demands for sustainability,waste management or job security.
Braojos highlighted that “healthcare is the industry that pollutes the most, since It produces 4.4% of net emissions globally, which makes us see the importance of being sustainable and energy efficient.”
In the presentation 'Synergies and key points to understand the HFMH success story',Oscar Lopez, director of the Construction Department at Fraternidad-Muprespa, detailed the technological innovations implemented in the center to obtain LEED Healthcare platinum recognition and highlighted:
