December 3, International Doctor's Day. Practice medicine with capital letters

General

Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being at all ages is essential for sustainable development. These are the words that describe Sustainable Development Goal number 3, with the heading “Health”, a word that refers to care, attention, well-being and healing.

For a few years now, the medical profession, which has never had a secondary role in society, quite the opposite, faces its International Day, this Sunday, December 3, in an international context of crisis.

It is necessary to draw attention to the key importance of a day that commemorates this profession, without whose exercise human suffering spreads and global economic systems are destabilized. The medical profession must be a guarantor of care and health recovery both in war scenarios and in places that are not.

In Spain, the Social Security Collaborating Mutual Funds, such as

A task that, ultimately, is carried out by the doctors of the entity, whose figure we value on this day, both those dedicated to healthcare work, that is, treating patients, and those who have led their careers in the fields of management and directive tasks.

“As a Mutual Collaborator with Social Security, our activity focuses on caring for a group as specific and sensitive as people who have suffered a work accident. Every day, we will continue to strive to give our best to provide our insured with all the human and technical care they may need”, assures the doctor José Fabregat, manager of the Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana Hospital, who highlights the importance of all the entity's medical staff contributing to the greater good that is the recovery of health.

Medicine is one of the most beautiful professions there is, it is one of the few activities that allows you something as wonderful as helping your fellow human beings to care for and protect their health, recover it in case of illness and improve the quality of life. There are many ways in which we can carry out this task: rural doctors, large hospitals, health centers, war conflicts, NGOs, research, health management...it doesn't matter what our field of action is, there is something that is common and non-negotiable, we have to be clear about our vocation to serve and help others, if not, what we do will be something else but we will not have the right to call it MEDICINE with capital letters", concludes Fabregat in such a special day and that deserves important social recognition
