Fraternidad-Muprespa at the XXII SETLA Congress in Valladolid

More than 50 professionals Fraternidad-Muprespa have participated in the annual reference event for occupational traumatology in Spain, the XXII National Congress of the Spanish Society of Occupational Traumatology, SETLA which was held on 23 and 24 November, at theCongress Center of the Fair Valladolid.

The Dr. Javier Chacón García, Resident Traumatology doctor (MIR R2) of the Hospital meniscus in patients with high functional demand in the workplace". Dr. José Ignacio Mora collected the award on his behalf at the presentation ceremony. Dr. Vicente Ángel Díez Vázquez, head of the Lower Limb Unit, Drs. Elena García Elías and Dolores Garrido Pozo, traumatologists from the same unit and Drs. Tomás Losa Cuadrado (MIR R5), and Claudia Anduaga Torres (MIR R3) from Hospital Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana.

The opening ceremony was attended by Jacobo Baró Pazos, Territorial Director of the DT. Noroeste de Fraternidad-Muprespa, member of the Honor Committee and representative of AMAT in Castilla y León, and with Dr. Eduardo Hevia, president of Congress and former head of the Spine Unit of the Fraternidad-Muprespa Havana Hospital (HFMH).

Through presentations, communications and posters, health professionals from the network of centers and the HFMH have shared their knowledge and research in the field of traumatology, nursing, physiotherapy and general medicine, providing a multidisciplinary vision of patient care trauma in the workplace.

In the field of traumatology the first participation in the congress began with Dra. Barbara Batres Cid, traumatologist at the HFMH Spine Unit, participating in the clinical case and discussion of the I Official Table: Herniated Disc Lumbar.

The Dr. Aleksander Lovic Jazbec, Specialist in Plastic Surgery at the HFMH, has participated with the presentation "Vascularized bone in the reconstruction of the lower limb. Indications, technique and results" at the Official Table: Reconstructive Surgery.Recover what was lost.

The Dr. Vicente Díez Vázquez, head of the Lower Limb Unit of the HFMH, has moderated the III Official Table on Complex Periarticular Limb Fractures Bottom.

As for communications and poster the Dr. Álvaro Minuesa Asensio, head of the HFMH Traumatology Service, has chaired the Free Communications Traumatologists I. Dra. The Dr. Javier Pérez Rodríguez, Medical Specialist in Plastic Surgery at the Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana Hospital has presented his study “Microsurgical reconstruction of the upper limb with vascularized fibula: experience and results in the work context”.

The Dra. Claudia Anduaga Torres, has presented the communication “Evaluation of results of lower trapezius transfers with Achilles allograft for posterosuperior cuff tears in the workplace” and a poster on the “Synthesis of calcaneal fracture (Sanders 4) through arthroscopic control of the subtalar joint and cannulated screws: presentation of surgical technique.”

La Dra. Mercedes Ruiz Domínguez, specialist doctor Plastic Surgery at the HFMH has presented the poster on "Traumatic pathology of the hand and wrist: a precise definition of the final objective of surgical treatment reduces the number of interventions, time and cost of treatment".

In the sphere of nursing we began the interventions with the presidency of the Official Table of Nursing: “Healthcare innovation” by Elena Muñoz Bodega, operating room supervisor of the HFMH, with the intervention as moderator of Sandra Alegre Jodar, nurse at the IT Care Coordination and Control Center, and with the presentation inaugural by Caridad Amador Lorente, director of Nursing of the HFMH.
