Fraternidad-Muprespa celebrates World Environment Day

Fraternidad-Muprespa, Mutual Collaborator with Social Security, joins HTMLTAG2___ to the celebration of World Environment Day as well as the One Earth motto, agreed upon by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) during the Stockholm Conference of 1972.

Our planet is still in danger. Every day we live a fight to avoid climate change, pollution, waste and the loss of biodiversity. Let us remember that the Earth's resources are not infinite.

People and nature are the center of environmental work and we must protect it through different actions. This year, at Fraternidad-Muprespa one of our focuses has been recycling. Little by little, the Quality and Environment department of the Mutua has encouraged us to get rid of the trash cans in the workplaces, exchanging them for different clean points in the centers. A fact that we can extrapolate to everyday life in our homes. Furthermore, during fiscal year 2021, paper orders have been reduced by more than 2,125kg, which represents a reduction of 8.68% compared to the previous year. This awareness seeks to achieve SDG 13 – Climate Action.

In our continued commitment to the environment we can highlight that at the Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana Hospital, 8.5% of the energy consumed is of photovoltaic origin thanks to the 600 square meters of photovoltaic panels that we have. Or, that the reduction of our carbon footprint emissions is 83.51% in the three-year period 2018-2020 compared to 2017-2019.
