Fraternidad-Muprespa delivers the Zero Accident Distinction in Granada
The Esero room of the Granada Science Park hosted on Tuesday, June 11, the ceremony to present the Zero Accident Badges to thirty Granada companies that have not had work-related accidents or professional illnesses in the last fifteen, ten or five years, an event organized by the provincial management of Fraternidad-Muprespa. The rest of the companies that deserve the distinction until they reach seventy, will receive it soon.
The badges are intended to be placed in a visible place in the company to demonstrate its proactivity in favor of safety, health and occupational well-being. Recognized entities can share their good practices in the campaign that the Mutual Fund develops on its social networks with the hashtag #CeroAccidentesFM.
Andrés Ruiz Martínez, provincial director of the Mutual Fund in Granada, welcomed the attendees and thanked the Employment delegate and the director of the Granada Occupational Risk Prevention Center for their presence, and the Science Park for making the space available. He also praised the commitment of the award-winning companies to eradicate and contain workplace accidents: “At a time when workplace accidents are rising, we must not forget about you, the companies that have not had accidents for years,” he stressed.
Javier Medina Fernández, director of the Science and Education Area of the Granada Science Park, congratulated the companies for their preventive work and highlighted the Culture of Prevention pavilion, designed in collaboration with the Employment Department of the Government of Andalusia and the only center on the culture of prevention that exists in Spain.
For his part Carlos Maya Santa Cruz, coordinator of the General Subdirectorate of Prevention, Quality and Communication of the Mutua, has insisted on the importance of prevention to reduce the number of accidents, recalling that in 2022 there were about 8,000 accidents in the province, 13% more than in 2021.
To conclude the event, José Javier Martín Cañizares, territorial delegate of Employment of the Junta de Andalucía in Granada, recalled that the Department of Employment has several complementary programs that seek to reduce accidents, and that range from advisory programs for companies, collaboration programs with the Labor Inspection (in verification functions in matters of prevention), or aid to small and medium-sized companies to improve risk prevention in the workplace. He also pointed out that in the last call for aid the Delegation has reserved an amount of nearly 800,000 euros so that SMEs in the province can undertake different improvements or projects that guarantee the occupational health and safety of workers.
