Fraternidad-Muprespa has participated in the World Congress of Healthy Companies, organized by Prevencionar and held between the d June 3 and 7 in online format. Under the title “ Emotional Balance: prioritizing mental health at work”, e In this edition, the congress focused on addressing one of the most pressing challenges in the contemporary workplace and included the participation of outstanding professionals who shared their experiences with attendees through numerous talks and workshops.

Beatriz Lozano, Mutua's prevention consultant gave the presentation “Effects of climate change on mental health”, in which she explained the risks we face due to climate change, including the impact it will have on mental health due to the effects it generates.

According to Lozano, “increased temperatures, increased C02 levels, rising sea levels and extreme weather episodes have effects such as air pollution, extreme heat, the impact on water or an increase in allergens, which is directly related to diseases.” He also explained that "they also generate negative effects on mental health, such as low mood, while psychiatric disorders tend to increase during heat waves."

The intense heat, therefore, causes emotional changes such as irritability, impatience, anxiety, frustration and uncontrolled anger management in some people. “Therefore,” he added, “more research is needed on how to intervene as early as possible to prevent and manage mental health problems in the context of climate change.”
