Fraternidad-Muprespa managed to increase its collection, its affiliated companies and protected workers in 2021. The business figures for last year at the Mutua Collaboradora con la Seguridad Social were presented this Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the entity's General Meeting, held at the Fraternidad-Muprespa Havana Hospital.

Bartolomé Lora and Carlos Aranda, vice president and manager respectively of the Mutua, presented the financial results of the entity, estimating management income at just over 1,625 million euros. Fraternidad-Muprespa increased its income from fees in 2021, reaching 1,201 million, 3.24% compared to the collection of the previous year.

The entity shows a positive result of 21.02 million, with the following breakdown: 180.19 million surplus in professional contingencies; 161.13 million in deficit due to common contingencies, and 1.95 million in surplus due to cessation of activity of self-employed workers.

The number of workers protected in professional contingency increased to 1,450,400. Employed workers are employed in 120,085 mutual companies, 1.8% more. For its part, the number of self-employed workers has also increased, more than 3,000 compared to the previous year, standing at 209,321.

Expenses associated with professional contingencies were 120.2 million euros (decreased by 1.37%). The number of processes in this heading stood at 80,595, an increase of 13.22%. Meanwhile, expenses for common contingencies increased by 16.59% to reach 573.68 million euros.

According to Aranda, “the proper management of the financial benefits of professional contingency, the improvement of the Hospital's service to the healthcare network, and the control of suppliers, has resulted in the continued decrease in spending on this contingency from 2015 to 2021. Regarding the common contingency, its management has been improved thanks to the model followed by the entity focused on close control and rapid cancellations and success in registration proposals.”

Fraternidad-Muprespa paid 177.5 million corresponding to the 65,000 requests for extraordinary benefits due to cessation of activity of self-employed workers as a result of the pandemic.

The progress in meeting the Sustainable Development Goals, the preparation of the IV Equality Plan, the renewal of the Teleworking and Flexibility Charter and that of quality and environmental certificates are notable; and the verification of the reduction of the Carbon Footprint for the fifth consecutive year, obtaining the “Calculo + Reduzco” seal, which makes Fraternidad-Muprespa the first mutual to achieve it.

With a network of 115 centers and a staff of 2,062 employees, it continues its work together with the other two mutual companies that make up +compromiso, a Mutual alliance.

Finally, the Mutual Fund has transmitted during the celebration of its General Meeting a message of commitment to its associated companies and its protected workers, the reason for the entity's existence.
