New CATA-COVID benefits for self-employed workers included in RDL 2/2021, of January 26

On January 27, 2021, the Royal Decree-Law 2/2021, of January 26, on the reinforcement and consolidation of social measures in defense of employment, was published in the BOE, which includes, among other issues, the new extraordinary benefits for cessation of activity for self-employed workers.

These new benefits represent a continuity with those developed in RD-law 30/2020 that are accruing until January 31, but some nuances have been introduced that make access to them more flexible and favorable; Among the most relevant is the extension of the deadline to request benefits up to 21 calendar days without losing any days.
