Information about Coronavirus (COVID-19)

As a Mutual Collaborator with Social Security, health care and constant concern for the health of the workers of our mutual companies is our mission and therefore we want to provide you with updated information about COVID-19, always from official sources.
Consideration of COVID-19 as a professional contingency
Benefits caused by professionals in health and socio-health centers who, during the provision of health or socio-health services, have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the exercise of their profession (Article 6. RDl, 3/2021)
- The personnel who provide services in health and social health centers registered in the registries corresponding persons who, in the exercise of their profession, during the provision of health or socio-health services, have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus, within the period from the declaration of the pandemic international by the World Health Organization until the lifting by the health authorities of all the prevention measures adopted to face the health crisis caused by the aforementioned SARS-CoV-2 virus, will have the same benefits as the Social Security system grants to people who are affected by a occupational disease .
- The services of occupational risk prevention must issue the corresponding report stating that in the exercise of their profession has been exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus due to the provision of health or social-health services.
- Once the contagion of the virus has been accredited within the time frame established in section 1, and the report provided for in section 2 has been provided, In any case, it will be presumed that the contagion has occurred in the exercise of their profession in the provision of health or socio-health services.
- The entity responsible for said benefits will be the one that covered the professional contingencies at the time of the medical leave due to contagion of the disease.
Situation assimilated to a work accident for those periods of isolation or contagion of workers caused by the COVID-19 virus
Royal Decree-Law 6/2020, of March 10, has been published in the Official State Gazette, which adopts certain urgent measures in the economic field and for the protection of public health.
In the first section of its fifth article it states that “… In order to protect public health, those periods of isolation or contagion of workers caused by the COVID-19 virus will be considered, on an exceptional basis, exclusively for the economic benefit of temporary disability from the Social Security system,” .

IMPORTANT: Medical Reports for Discharge (PMB), Confirmation (PMC), Discharge (PMA) and isolation situations will be issued exclusively by the Public Health Services (SPC).
Therefore,
For the payment of the benefit, the issuance of the reports that justify the situation is an essential requirement:

The PMB and PMC can be issued without the physical presence of the person.

The isolation report, also issued by the SPS, will require confirmation of the origin of the isolation by the competent authority in each Autonomous Community.

The reports may be issued retroactively.

The contingency will always be Common Illness. Work Accident Reports (PATs) should not be submitted. The reports must be managed through the RED System like any other Common Contingencies (CC) report.

ICD-10 ES:
Z20.828: Contact and exposure.
B34.2: Infection. -
The indicated codes will be accepted by the INSS and will not be considered errors
According to the information received so far, the reports will be sent by the INSS who will carry out an internal procedure to reconvert the cancellations of these codes to AT and communicate it to the companies and the Mutual Fund, through the information exchanges defined for this purpose

The duration of the processes. It is estimated between 5 and 30 calendar days, with the initial confirmation part of 7 days and the following days not exceeding 14.
Basic protective measures against COVID-19
- Wash your hands frequently with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or soap and water.
- When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with tissues or your elbow and wash your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or soap and water.
- Maintain at least one meter distance from other people, particularly those who cough, sneeze and have a fever.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- If you have fever, cough, and shortness of breath, seek medical attention in time.
