Fraternidad-Muprespa participates in the 14th INVESCOT Congress

The Traumatology service of Hospital Traumatology SECOT.

This event brings together experts and researchers in trauma surgery to share their studies and the results obtained in the treatment of pathologies according to the different specialties: spine, shoulder, hip, ankle and foot.

Dr. Eduardo Hevia, traumatologist at the Spine Unit of the Fraternidad-Muprespa Havana Hospital, has chaired this 14th edition of the INVESCOT Congress, with the collaboration of Dr. Fernando Ordoñez, head of the Spine Unit, Dr. Álvaro Minuesa, head of the Traumatology Service, Dr. Ignacio González, traumatologist at the Shoulder Unit, the dr. Andrea Paniagua, traumatologist at the Shoulder Unit and Dr. Tomás Losa, MIR R3, who have collaborated in the organization of the congress as part of the organizing committee, and Dr. Bárbara Batres, traumatologist of the Lower Limb Unit as a member of the technical committee.

The congress has had the institutional participation of Dr. Luis Ramos, president of the SECOT, who carried out the official opening together with Dr. Hevia. In addition, Dr. Amparo Godoy, research member on the board of directors of INVESCOT, has shared a dissertation on the “SECOT Research Agency and COT research in Spain”.

Representing the Mutua, Dr. Bárbara Batres, traumatologist at the Lower Limb Unit of the Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana Hospital and Dr. José Luis Badá Jaime, traumatologist at the provincial directorate of Barcelona, moderated the communications table on the lower limb. And Dr. Fernando Ordoñez, head of the Spine Unit of the Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana Hospital moderated the spine communications table on the second day.

The HFMH is a cutting-edge hospital in which we are committed to the participation of our resident doctors in research, in this way Dr. Tomás Losa, MIR R3 and Dr. Raúl Zapata, MIR R5, defended the communications presented respectively before the committee.

The conference was very well received, with more than 60 attendees and a total of 42 free communications presented. The following communications have been presented by the Mutual Fund:

  • Value of neurophysiological stimulation of the middle tract in the detection of medial malposition of the thoracic pedicle screw. Co-author: Dr. Hevia.
  • Superior capsular reconstruction: results at one year follow-up. Authors: doctors Raúl Zapata Rodrigo, Tomás Losa Cuadrado, Ismael Rahmuni del Pozo, Marta Pérez Rodríguez, Claudia Anduaga Torres and Andrea Paniagua González from Hospital Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana.
  • Guided posterior vertebral modulation (GPVM). A new technique for correcting adolescent idiopathic scoliosis without fusion, preserving vertebral mobility. Co-author: Dr.Hevia.
  • Magnetic Resonance Study of provisionally immobilized discs in percutaneous instrumentation of vertebral fractures. Authors: doctors Tomás Losa Cuadrado, Fernando Ordóñez Pascual, Raúl Zapata Rodrigo, Ismael Rahmuni del Pozo, Marta Pérez Rodríguez, Bárbara Batres Cid and Eduardo Hevia Sierra from the Hospital Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana.
  • Abolition of T7-T10 sagittal dynamics during forced ventilation in patients with AIS Lenke 1A compared to healthy subjects. An underlying factor of respiratory limitation in AIS. Co-author: Dr. Hevia.

During the closing ceremony, the awards ceremony took place and Dr. Hevia thanked the attendees for their presence.
