May 12, World Nursing Day: the importance of training and training
Like every May 12, Fraternidad-Muprespa celebrate the World Nursing Day, a day that seeks to put and The work of the staff of this specialty is valued and was established on this date by the International Council of Nursing as it is the day of the birth of Florence Nightingale, considered a precursor of contemporary professional nursing.
This year, we focus on the importance of the training, teaching and dissemination activity carried out by our nurses. Through their study and research efforts, they manage to offer patients more and better care solutions, so that each patient can recover as soon as possible the life they had before needing assistance.
Participation in Congresses
On November 25 and 26 of last year, the Congress of the Spanish Society of Occupational Traumatology, SETLA, in which more than fifty Fraternidad-Muprespa professionals participated, among whom were numerous nursing professionals. Special mention deserves the work of Irene Braojos, Hospitalization nurse at the Hospital In short, and in his own words, “improvement in the quality of care, a fundamental objective for the nursing team.”

Iñigo Espinar, emergency nurse Hospital Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana, presented the communication “Assessment of joint pain after the use of PRP in the knee” while Elena Modroño, also coming from Mutua Hospital, focused on “The challenge of vaccination at Mutua.”
Finally Susana Lázaro, María Rosario Serrano, Concepción Fidalgo, Arancha Lera, Sonia Andrés, Gema López and Cristina García They made the poster “Covid 19, perception of change.”
In April of this year, the nursing staff of Fraternidad-Muprespa participated in the II Virtual Nurse Week focused on wound care and in which the Mutuals participating in +Compromiso, Asepeyo, Fraternidad-Muprespa and MC Mutual. On the part of Fraternidad-Muprespapa participated in the appointment, from the Fraternidad-Muprespa Havana Hospital,Paqui Leon, consultation nurse, with the p onence "HFMH chronic wound consultations", and María Rofso, hospitalization nurse, with "Before and after dressings". A third nurse, Sandra Alegre, assigned to the Care Coordination and Control Center ITEM, participated with the presentation "Myths and truths in the treatment of wounds."
The Chronic Wound Consultation
In 2021, this new consultation was created in the Hospital, which arises from the need to provide continued care to those patients who present traumatic and surgical wounds with an evolution of more than two months that present or are at risk of presenting complications, as well as patients with wounds of long evolution or torpid evolution. Patients from any Fraternidad-Muprespa center are treated there.
The objective of this unit, made up of three professionals, is to optimize wound healing and healing times as well as reduce complications associated with them, providing comprehensive care to the patient to promote recovery and autonomy. Since the unit was launched, a total of 1,786 cures have been performed on 539 patients, with a high degree of satisfaction on the part of patients and healthcare personnel.
Continuous training
In the field of training, various workshops and courses have been carried out for personnel in this specialty. Bandages and immobilizations, x-ray operator, ultrasound-guided puncture or spinal surgical instrumentation are some of the topics in which professionals have expanded their knowledge.
In order for future nursing professionals to acquire a complete vision of the work of this specialty, the Hospital has provided training to interns from both the university environment and various institutes.
