The UAL hosts the exhibition “Prevention Posters of the 20th Century” by Fraternidad-Muprespa

The Bioclimatic Room of the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences of the University of Almería hosts from this Thursday until Tuesday the 20th the exhibition “Prevention Posters of the 20th Century”, organized by  

The presentation event was attended by Javier Lozano, vice-rector of Sports, Sustainability and Healthy University of the University of Almería, Silvia Vela, director of Communication and IR of Fraternidad-Muprespa, and Antonio José Millán, director of the AXA Chair of Prevention. 

Lozano was the first to intervene and explained that among the powers of his vice-rector's office, those relating to occupational risk prevention stand out, including the Risk Prevention Service and Occupational Health, as a technical support and advisory body on the matter. 

He also described that the Healthy University develops and coordinates health promotion and education actions aimed at the entire university community for the acquisition of habits and lifestyles that impact good health and quality of life.

Finally, before giving way to the other two speakers, he thanked the Mutua and its provincial director, Matilde Góngora, also present at the event, for having promoted that the exhibition could be enjoyed at the University.  

Silvia Vela, for her part, highlighted that the UAL is the third university where the poster display is installed, after the University of Murcia and the University of Castilla-La Mancha, on its campus in Ciudad Real and explained that "the university is a suitable environment for disseminating the importance of the prevention of occupational risks, because they are leading centers in the study of prevention, a discipline that is increasingly being incorporated into the curricula."  

Later he added that “being at the UAL is important for the Mutua, with which an agreement was signed in October by which students from some faculties can do their internships at Fraternidad-Muprespa”.

Antonio José Millán, director of the AXA Chair of Prevention, was later responsible for taking a guided tour of these posters to review the history of prevention of occupational risks in Spain during the last century. 

The meeting was also attended by Rosa Serrano, provincial director of the INSS, María de Mar García Lorca, delegate councilor for Security and Mobility of the City Council of Almería, HTMLTAG47___Ana Fernández Flores, director of the Center for Occupational Risk Prevention of the Junta de Andalucía in Almería, and Óscar Pereda, responsible for Training of said center. Representatives of the Association of Fruit and Vegetable Producers Organizations of Almería (COEXPHAL) and mutual companies such as Carrefour, Correos, Smurfit Kappa, Grupo Caparrós, Grupo Gerial, Grupo Aspapros and SAT Eurosol, among others, also attended.

The exhibition has 41 locations in 26 provinces and has traveled 30,000 kilometers, reaching an audience of about ten million people.Belonging to the La Retrografia collection and focused on the theme of safety at work, prevention and occupational health__HTMLTAG60___, each poster that is part of the exhibition makes a free audio guide available to the visitor using a QR code, to better understand each work and contextualize the exhibition. 

In addition to the value of the posters as testimony to the way in which risk prevention was communicated in the last century, they are also first-rate artistic works, signed, in some cases by important poster artists from a hundred years ago, such as Callejo, Niebla or Cerro.
