Nine Fraternidad-Muprespa centers are accredited as cardioprotected spaces

Ámbito sanitario

cardioprotected space is called a space that has the necessary elements to assist a person in the first minutes of cardiac arrest. The most common tool to do this is a defibrillator, a medical device that analyzes the heart rhythm, identifies fatal arrhythmias and administers, with the intervention of a person, an electric shock whose purpose is to restore the heart's rhythm.

___

And the majority of non-traumatic sudden deaths in economically advanced countries are due to ischemic heart diseases that cause lethal cardiac arrhythmias. Therefore, to reduce deaths due to cardiac arrest, the best treatment is the early application of a series of actions that scientific medical societies have called the “chain of survival”.

In Spain, more than 30,000 people in the out-of-hospital environment and 20,000 in the hospital are susceptible to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). These figures more than justify the importance of implementing cardioprotected spaces.

___

Fraternidad-Muprespa already has nine of these spaces, duly accredited. These are the headquarters of the provincial directorates of Castellón, Madrid, Pamplona, Salamanca y Valencia, from the delegations of Arrecife in Las Palmas, Pinto in Madrid and Pulpí in Almería, in addition to the Hospital Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana en Madrid.

These accreditations are the result of compliance with the different requirements in their respective autonomous communities to comply as cardioprotected spaces, a project in which the Purchasing and Services and Health Management departments of the Mutua have collaborated, a prior step to the progressive expansion to all Fraternidad-Muprespa network centers.

Clinical and scientific evidence confirms that early defibrillation, within the chain of survival, is the most appropriate health response for a serious public health problem in whose resolution Fraternidad-Muprespa is completely committed.
