Fraternidad-Muprespa participates in the XXXIX Congress of the Spanish Society for Healthcare Quality

The Dra. Ana Periset, doctor of the Department of Health Management and Caridad Amador, Director of Nursing at the Fraternidad-Muprespa Havana Hospital have participated in the 39th edition of the SECA Congress, which met on October 25, 26 and 27 at the Víctor Villegas Auditorium and Congress Center in Murcia, to specialists from all sectors related to quality care.

Caridad and Ana participated on Thursday the 26th in the table on “Benchmarking between MCSS: Improvements in Patient Safety" sharing a presentation on "Risk Analysis: Present and future”.

Patient safety encompasses the set of organized activities that allow establishing processes, value systems, procedures, behaviors, technologies and care environments with which to constantly and sustainably reduce risks, prevent the appearance of avoidable harm, reduce the probability of causing it and mitigate its consequences. effects when they occur.

During their presentation they have detailed the steps to carry out a risk analysis in clinical safety, ranging from the definition of the scope and identification, evaluation and prioritization of risks, through the identification of causes and development of mitigation strategies, to end with the implementation of improvements, monitoring and continuous evaluation.

Next Caridad Amador has focused on the analysis of risks present for the patient in the hospital environment.Explaining the importance of the report in terms of safety in the prescription and administration of medication, as well as the procedure for requesting blood products.

In the outpatient setting, Ana Periset has developed the topic of radiological safety in healthcare centers, especially regarding the dosimetry of patient.

To conclude the presentation, they highlighted the latest trends in future risk analysis through from:

• Promote a safety culture and active patient participation in your own care process.

• Compliance with security regulations and standards clinic.

• The predictive analytics, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, which allows us to predict adverse effects and anticipate in clinical decision making.

• The Telemedicine and digital health that presents new security challenges and new opportunities for improvement.
