The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) has recently presented a new informative guide on monitoring biological risks at work.

This guide aims to help professional personnel and occupational health managers to establish and manage biological risk surveillance programs in the work environment to detect exposure to chemical substances and may also be useful for occupational hygiene specialist personnel and representatives of workers.

The document provides information on what surveillance of occupational biological risks may entail and covers key aspects such as benefits, limitations, interpretation of results, the right to information or ethical issues and consent.
