Last Friday,
The entity has received this award together with the mutual company Simelsa, an industrial supplies and electrical material company for high, medium and low voltage installations in the energy or gas sectors, among others, for promoting the application of good practices in ORP matters in companies, public administrations and entities in Extremadura.
The event opened Sunday Jesus Exposito, vice president of the Assembly of Extremadura, who highlighted that these awards recognize those who understand workplace safety as something more than mere compliance with a standard. “Every accident that is avoided is good news for everyone, and reminds us that occupational health and safety is a responsibility shared by public administrations, companies, prevention professionals and the workers themselves.”.
The award was collected by the Managing Director of Fraternidad-Muprespa,Carmen Rueda, the Provincial director of the Mutua in Cáceres,Maria Dolores Cortés, y Alberto García Álvarez-Buiza, Quality&Enviroment manager of Simelsa. He was also present at the delivery Antonio Fernández Concha-Castañeda, Provincial director of the Mutua in Badajoz.
Cortés thanked the recognition on behalf of the Mutua, stating that in Fraternidad-Muprespa “Our way of understanding work is to always put people at the center, be at their disposal and work at their service. And that principle makes all its sense in prevention, because prevention is, above all, taking care of people.” “This alliance,” he added, “it shows us that, when a company and mutual insurance company work together, we join forces and can move towards increasingly safer and healthier work environments.”
For its part,Alberto García Álvarez-Buiza thanked Fraternidad-Muprespa for their help and follow-up and stressed that “Prevention is not just an obligation, it is an essential part of the way we work every day.”
The event closed Pilar Bueno, General Director of Labor of the Board, who valued collaboration, the exchange of knowledge and experience as engines to improve and innovate, something that all the award-winning projects had in common. He also highlighted that the value of these awards is that “They make good practices visible and become references”.
This is award-winning work
The award received is a recognition of collaborative work, which was based on an analysis of the company's accident rate. As a result of the joint work and advice provided by Fraternidad-Muprespa, Simelsa integrated the Single Point Lesson (LUP) methodology as a practical tool designed to quickly and visually transmit specific preventive aspects.
The practice is a reflection of the important work of the Collaborating Mutual Insurance Companies with Social Security both in prevention and in reducing the accident rate of their mutual companies, an aspect regulated by the Social Security Preventive Activities Plan.
It is the second time that Fraternidad-Muprespa is awarded in the field of occupational risk prevention by the Government of Extremadura, which in April 2024 recognized, in VII Awards for the Promotion of Safety and Health at Work, the work carried out by the entity in its Workplace Road Safety Weeks, as well as the research, development and innovation actions aimed at reducing these professional contingencies.
Both recognitions reflect the commitment of Fraternidad-Muprespa with its mutual companies in the continuous improvement of health and safety conditions at work, through specialized technical advice, close and adapted to their needs.
