CONTENTS OF THE XVI INTERNATIONAL TRAUMATOLOGY SYMPOSIUM OF Fraternidad MUPRESPA

Surgery of the musculoskeletal system has a close relationship with technological advances and is constantly being renewed, its evolution not stopping. The objectives pursued by these scientific meetings must respond to the needs for recycling and professional updating of specialists in this discipline of medicine.

Every two years Fraternidad Muprespa organizes the International Traumatology Symposium in its Hospital Center in Madrid, this year 2010 the XVI Symposium And, as in previous editions, we try to ensure that both the experts and prestigious speakers who participate and the presentations are of maximum interest and correspond to the latest advances in traumatology and its derivation to occupational pathology.

Continuing with the scheme of previous Symposiums,A program has been prepared, divided into five round tables, sufficiently attractive due to the topics to be debated and the quality of the participants.

The first table is dedicated to the treatment of joint injuries of the upper limb, both in the aspects of open and arthroscopic surgery, with a panel of experts of high scientific value who will surely provide us with innovative techniques in the surgical procedures they use to resolve traumatic pathology of the shoulder, elbow and wrist.

The second table will be dedicated to research topics, featuring the latest work carried out by Spanish professionals on the use of stem cells in meniscal regeneration and with analysis of foot alterations in large overloads. Likewise, the forms of treatment for cartilage injuries in young people will be talked about and discussed, as the incidence of this pathology has increased.

The third table is dedicated to the study of the processes that affect the spinal column., highlighting the use of therapeutic guidelines in the prevention of injuries.

In the fourth table we will talk about the prevention and rehabilitation of injuries in professional athletes., counting on the extensive experience of Real Madrid's medical services professionals.

In the last table we will study injuries that affect the lower extremity, highlighting femoro-patellar pathology due to its high incidence today and knee dislocations due to their disabling nature.

Another way to participate will be the possibility of presenting scientific e-posters in the contest. To this end, we encourage specialists to attend and present their work.
