Pedro Serrera participates in a workshop on AI in the healthcare field
The workshop "Artificial Intelligence in the Health Sector: analysis of practical cases. Risks and opportunities" took place last Thursday and was attended by the Deputy Director General of Information Systems and Services of Fraternidad-Muprespa, Pedro Serrera.
Organized by Ramón y Cajal Abogados. María Luisa González Tapia, Counsel from the organizing firm, made an introduction to the recently approved Regulation relating to the European Health Data Space (EEDS), which affects all holders of health data and imposes new obligations in the processing of said data in relation to its making available to third parties, with appropriate legitimation.
Pedro Serrera then spoke, presenting two practical cases developed in and a quality support system for electronic medical records, for health professionals, focused on processes such as medical consultation.
Both artificial intelligence systems are based on an architecture developed on free license and open source LLM models, which guarantee compliance with the Artificial Intelligence Regulation (RIA).
In the presentation he addressed technological aspects of systems architecture, RIA regulatory compliance, employee training and change management strategies, and selection criteria for LLM artificial intelligence models.
The workshop then also featured the participation of María de la Rica, compliance&DPD at Viamed, who explained the opportunities and legal risks of artificial intelligence in the healthcare sector.
The workshop was held in person in the auditorium of the firm's headquarters and also had a large online participation.
