SEPTEMBER 1: New electronic notifications from Social Security
Order ISM/541/2026, of May 27, published in the BOE on June 1, 2026, modifies the Social Security electronic notifications and communications system and comes into force on September 1, 2026.
What changes?
As of that date, applicants or recipients of some benefits will receive, through the Social Security Electronic Headquarters (SEDESS), notifications and communications related to the following benefits:
- Temporary disability.
- Permanent disability, when the notification or communication refers to this benefit.
- Permanent non-disabling injuries.
- Birth and care of a minor.
- Risk during pregnancy.
- Risk during natural breastfeeding.
IMPORTANT: Affected people must be aware of the notifications available in the SEDESS and keep their contact information updated to receive the corresponding notices.
The rule also contemplates certain cases in which Social Security may use non-electronic means and establishes the possibility of receiving in-person assistance at the Social Security Assistance and Information Centers (CAISS) to access electronic communications.
