The Hospital Engineering Seminar awards our colleague Olvido Arenas
Olvido Arenas, director of the Production, Systems and Communications department at Fraternidad-Muprespa, has been awarded the third prize for best communication for her intervention in the XXXVI Hospital Engineering Seminar, held in Zaragoza between October 17 and 19 and organized by the Spanish Association of Hospital Engineering.
"For me it is a very nice and endearing recognition, taking into account the number and variety of topics that were presented at the Congress. It is something to feel proud of," she stated upon hearing the news of the award.
In his presentation, titled “LEED Hospital Certification
"We are working hard to achieve this certification thanks to very notable efficiency and sustainability performance. We are the pioneers in the LEED Healthcare certification, the one specific for healthcare centers, in Spain, and that makes our hospital a very clear reference. Everything we can tell about this process is new and very interesting," he added.
Arenas, a graduate in Higher Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and an employee of Fraternidad-Muprespa since 1999, has been involved in the new hospital project for nine years, when she took on the task of making a future approach for the building. "The final result is finally in sight. All of us who have participated and are still participating in the process feel truly proud of our new hospital and we convey this to those who do not yet know it."

Together with Olvido Arenas he traveled to Zaragoza Pedro Serrera, deputy director general of Information Systems and Services, who addressed in his presentation "The digital Hospital. Around the digital patient" some of the contributions of the new hospital center in this matter. The Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana Hospital aims to create a new model of relationship with the patient taking advantage of digital technology. Among the catalog of services that it will offer, highlights include Wi-Fi coverage throughout the center, electronic medical records, digitally integrated operating rooms and an IP television system in the rooms with access to digital entertainment content.
