We love green, join World Car Free Day
On September 22, 2021, Car-Free Day is celebrated! is the latest impulse from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge to participate in the European Mobility Week which this year has the motto "For your health, move safely sustainable".
The objective of this day is self-reflection, that is, reflection on car culture in cities and its use for the remaining 364 days. This initiative has its origins in the first oil crisis of the 70s, as a response by governments to a single type of energy supply, which sparked the idea of finding alternatives in mobility.
Since 2000, the European Commission carries out activities included within this week to promote the development of good sustainable practices, raising awareness about the consequences for both public health and the environment.
This initiative is an indirect part of the process called by the United Nations as mainstreaming, that is, the reorientation of public policies to align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) placing them at the center and ensuring the progress of the Action Plan for the implementation of the Agenda 2030.
In Fraternidad-Muprespa, we want to contribute to reflecting with you on this day about the use we make of our vehicles and how we can minimize their use and thus contribute to generating fewer harmful impacts on the environment, so that our footprint is green, ever greener!
