Last Sunday, dozens of groups related to victims of traffic accidents brought to the fore an ancient demand, that of a pandemic silent that the current covid pandemic that we are experiencing cannot cover up. They did so on a day in which they once again remembered, like every third Sunday in November, these victims with acts throughout Spain, acts that only reinforce the imperative need for that number to be reduced.

Fraternidad-Muprespa is not immune to a reality that affects the entity, as well as society as a whole. Furthermore, as a Mutual Collaborator with Social Security, there is a legal obligation to work towards the prevention of occupational risks, and to try to reduce the impact of road accidents in their labor aspect. To raise awareness about this objective, the IV Workplace Road Safety Week was held between November 15 and 21 with the motto “Nothing is more urgent than your life.”

More than 400 attendees from two hundred mutual companies attended the organized events.e Fraternidad-Muprespa, which in these quotes disseminates knowledge tools and remembers old enemies of road safety: the ingestion of alcohol, drugs or psychotropic drugs caused the death of 50% of the drivers who died in 2020.

On November 16, the webinar “Use, consumption and abuse of alcohol, drugs and medications while driving” served to focus on the safety and health improvements that Fraternidad-Muprespa promotes among its associated companies. It included numerous experts, from collaborating and mutual entities such as DGT, Aesleme, Stop Accidentes, CNAE Foundation, Red Cross and Axa Foundation, who made valuable contributions to the debate, as stated in this news

On the following day, the 17th,Fraternidad-Muprespa organized a webinar, within its educational offer, in which David Revillo was the speaker, and focused on the analysis of the consequences of road accidents from an economic and personal point of view. The event also served to identify the main causes that give rise to road accidents, especially those that have to do with the human factor, such as distractions, alcohol, drugs, medications, speed, fatigue, not putting on the seat belt or poor condition of the tires, among others. Likewise, emphasis was placed on the simple preventive measures to be applied by any company, starting from a necessary change in attitude and finally the general steps to follow to carry out a safe, healthy and sustainable Mobility Plan were described.

On Friday the 19th, as a conclusion to the Week,Fraternidad-Muprespa was attended by   Carlos García-Hirschfeld as a guest on the Fratertalk "Vital Objective: preventing road accidents". The executive producer and presenter of the program "Seguridad Vital" on Spanish Television, contributed his vision regarding different aspects of road safety, emphasizing the importance of insisting, educating, disseminating and raising awareness about the danger of the most dangerous behaviors.

Among the most forceful statements he made, we are left with two: the necessary involvement of all parties with responsibility in road safety, so that no "balls are thrown around" and all those involved assume the margin of improvement that they can undertake. Secondly, he highlighted the need for more rigorous evaluations for drivers, for more complete psychotechnical examinations, for limiting driving from a certain age or when suffering from certain medical problems, or the necessary implementation of retraining training.

Also during the IV Work Road Safety Week,Fraternidad-Muprespa has carried out intense informative activity on social networks, with 55 publications, both about the celebration of each event and the informative material created for this purpose.
