30N International Information Security Day: this is how Fraternidad-Muprespa guarantees it
Fraternidad-Muprespa's commitment to the security of the information it manages led the entity to undertake two important projects in 2022 aimed at providing higher security standards to the processes in which it participates as a Mutual Collaborator with Social Security.
These processes take on special importance on days such as November 30, International Information Security Day, a day that has been celebrated since 1988 at the initiative of the prestigious international association of computer professionals, researchers and trainers Association for Computer Machinery (ACM), with the aim of carrying out actions to raise awareness of the importance of protecting information through security measures.
- First of all, the Mutual Fund has provided digital certificates of natural persons to all employees of the entity, an electronic certification issued by an authorized entity that technically and legally guarantees the identity of a person on the Internet, an essential requirement to offer secure services on the Internet.
The digital certificate allows the electronic signature of documents, so that the recipient of an electronically signed document is certain that it is the original and has not been manipulated. Processes such as the presentation of files or the issuance of electronic prescriptions are simplified thanks to this electronic signature, which also allows identification before organizations such as Social Security or the Tax Agency.
- The second project is the adaptation of the Fraternidad-Muprespa Digital Office to the National Security Scheme (ENS), a standard for the organization of the security of information systems that, as established by RD 3/2010, public sector entities must apply in their services aimed at citizens. This project has also been addressed in the face of the escalation of cyber attacks on public organizations, which made it advisable to reinforce security.
The digital services provided by the mutual company's Digital Office are aimed at its associated companies, collaborating consultancies, affiliated self-employed workers, suppliers and insured employees.
In favor of this security, Fraternidad-Muprespa received last week from AENOR the integrated system certificate in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO 9001:2018 standards and ISO/IEC 27001 Quality Management and Information Security. The first is the quality standard par excellence while the second belongs to the field of information technology, security techniques and information security management systems that allow the assurance, confidentiality and integrity of data and information, as well as the systems that process it.
Pedro Serrera, deputy director general of Information Systems and Services of the Mutua, highlighted upon receiving the certificates that “at Fraternidad-Muprespa we are fervent believers in the importance of certification of management systems” and highlighted that have been fulfilled 18 years since obtaining the first certification, in the field of computer applications:
“We understood that certifying the development of these applications was a way of applying continuous improvement to all the processes supported in the development of applications, such as electronic medical records, budget management or customer service, among others."
