The motto of the ILO campaign for 2015 has been:"Join the construction of a culture of prevention in matters of Safety and Health at Work."
In Fraternidad-Muprespa Following the theme proposed by the ILO, we wanted to emphasize through a toy to make constructions, we have built the word prevention. It is in our power to do prevention to reduce work accidents and occupational diseases that represent a human and economic problem that constitutes a serious concern for society. Addressing this problem requires a collective effort by governments, employers and workers to create, implement and continually strengthen a safety and health culture of prevention, which involves respecting the right to a safe and healthy working environment at all levels with a system of defined rights, responsibilities and duties, and giving top priority to the principle of prevention through the active participation of all.
From the Occupational Risk Prevention Law, preventive efforts have been redoubled by all the agents involved, however, when it is raised in different forums why the results do not correspond to said efforts, the most repeated response is always the same : “there is a lack of preventive culture in our companies.” On the other hand, there is agreement in the fact that preventive culture does not emerge from nowhere and that, quite the contrary, it is the medium and long-term result of a work of raising awareness and valuing the concepts "safety and health" and "risk prevention", whose main stage of action must be located in the primary stages of official education, taking into account that today's students will be future workers and entrepreneurs and that they will be the ones who incorporate said value within them unconsciously and therefore carry it to practice naturally.
