Fraternidad-Muprespa adds to the Multiplier Effect in the prevention of Stroke
The Stroke Stop Association and the Mutual Collaborator with Social Security Fraternidad-Muprespa, have signed a collaboration agreement to promote awareness-raising activities about this disease, as well as to inform about the importance of its rapid detection, action and the correct way to prevent it, reducing its consequences in society.
The signing took place at the Mutual Headquarters by Carlos Aranda, managing director and Julio Agredano, president of the Stroke Stop Association. He was also present at the event Natalia Fdez. Laviada, deputy general director of Prevention, Quality and Communication.
Carlos Aranda has expressed “the special concern of Mutual Insurance Companies regarding the increase in accidents cerebrovascular, cardiovascular and accidents in itinere. Thanks to this agreement, dissemination actions on stroke prevention can be carried out with our interest groups.".
For Julio Agredano "Having Fraternidad-Muprespa to inform and disseminate knowledge about stroke to companies and their employees will help us in our ultimate goal of reducing the personal, family and social drama that stroke represents in our country. Companies, through their employees, have the opportunity to change the situation by acting as ambassadors in their environment to help prevent the disease and reduce its consequences."
The purpose of this collaboration agreement is the establishment of a framework for the common implementation of dissemination activities, which benefit both parties. Among such activities, the holding of seminars, courses, conferences or conferences on the competencies and functions of Social Security Collaborating Mutual Funds is contemplated.
Stroke is the second cause of death in Spain (the first in women), the first cause of acquired disability in adults and the second of dementia. According to data from the Spanish Society of Neurology (SEN), every year 110,000-120,000 people suffer a stroke in our country, of which 50% are left with disabling consequences or die. Currently more than 330,000 people have suffered a stroke. 90% of stroke cases could be avoided with adequate prevention of risk factors and a healthy lifestyle.
