It is one more step to maintain a healthy active population, regardless of their age group, and thus contribute to minimizing present and future accidents.

At the active aging day held on October 21, 2016 in La Rioja,Natalia Fernández Laviada Deputy Director General of Prevention, Quality and Communication, has stressed the importance of combining all possible efforts to ensure that the aging of the workforce is an attractive and easy challenge to face, becoming a need that is safely addressed by all parties involved. He has also recommended four essential support points to ensure that your company is in tune with a healthy staff in any age group.

Attendees have been able to learn about practices and techniques aimed at strengthening the work capacity of older people, identifying the factors that are part of the usual work environment for this group of workers.

The success of conciliating has been explained; the psychosocial environment of the worker with health resources; and interesting measures applicable to companies have been provided.

We cannot forget that our reason for being are companies and workers, and that the number of employed people over 65 years of age has grown by 28% in the last two years. There are currently 162,600 people, including self-employed and salaried workers, within this group.

Never before have there been so many active seniors, although there have not been so many Spaniards of retirement age either. Spain is the CEE country with the lowest employment rate among those over 65 years of age.
