AESLEME is the Association for the Study of Spinal Cord Injury that was born as a result of the concern about the alarming increase in spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries caused mainly by accidents. It is a private, national, non-profit entity declared of public utility dedicated to the prevention of accidents that cause spinal and brain injuries, most of which are irreversible: paraplegia, tetraplegia, craniocerebral trauma, etc.
The vision of AESLEME is to prevent accidents, through prevention and awareness campaigns, as well as such as reducing the number of serious injuries and deaths of traumatic origin, through Road Safety Education campaigns and providing comprehensive support and assistance to people with disabilities, their families and friends. And on the other hand, raise awareness among the population about the consequences of accidents and problems (physical, psychological and social) that people with disabilities face and improve the socio-labor integration of people with disabilities: training them and trying to incorporate them into work in the association.
