International Disability Day: this is how we live it at Fraternidad-Muprespa

As every December 3, the International Day of People with Disabilities is celebrated. Declared in 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly, it promotes the rights and well-being of people with disabilities, in all social spheres. Worldwide, one in seven people suffers from some type of disability, approximately one billion people, 15% of the world's population.

At Fraternidad-Muprespa we live this day focusing on the Mutua employees who have disabilities and who are part, like any other employee, of the talent and human capital of our entity. According to data collected in the Annual Report of
52% of this group are men and 48% are women. The contracts of colleagues with disabilities are entirely permanent, compared to 91.13% of permanent contracts at the Mutua, 3.6% more than the previous year. With respect to the length of the day, both figures, those of workers with disabilities compared to the average in the mutual insurance company, are practically the same if we talk about full-time contracts: 76% in the group with disabilities, 20 points more than the previous year, for 76.6% in the Mutual Fund as a whole. Their jobs are in the administrative field, in 64% of the cases, while 36% carry out their work in the health field.

In addition, the Inserta agreement, signed in 2016 between Fraternidad-Muprespa and the ONCE Foundation for the training and employment of people affected by disabilities, is still in force.
The Mutua has also thought about the entire group with disabilities that has to access our administrative and health centers and determined standards by undergoing audits to measure the degree of accessibility of each center.

Currently it has 90 audited healthcare centers. In total, 19,000m2 of completely independent accessibility for people with different abilities. Eight of them with the highest score, the AIS 1/2018 5-star certification. These are the healthcare centers in Vitoria, Córdoba, Palma de Mallorca, Ripollet, Lorca, Arrecife and Gijón, in addition to the Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana Hospital.
